Behind every local club is a volunteer who does the hard yards. Whether they’re coaching the kids, refereeing, or running the canteen—we want to celebrate them!

Nominate a volunteer today to become our Foodland Volunteer of the Week. Each weekly winner scores a $50 Foodland Gift Card, a featured interview on The Local Game, and goes in the running to be crowned Volunteer of the Year to win a $500 Foodland Gift Card!

How it Works:

• Phase 1 (Weekly): Nominate your hero. We pick one winner every week for 26 weeks. Tune in each Thursday to see the interview.

• Phase 2 (The Finals): In August, our 26 winners go to a public vote (50%) and a judging panel (50%) to decide the Volunteer of the Year.

Weekly Nominations close 3 August 2026. Final Voting closes 6 September 2026.

This competition is open to SA residents aged 18+. Nominees must be active volunteers within the SA soccer/futsal community.

This is a Game of Skill. Winners are selected based on the merit of the 100-word submission.
